We gave LuckyBolt a flexible impact loan to allow them to grow their commissary kitchen into a Kitchen + Takeaway. With this loan, the social enterprise created a distribution hub for local farms and created local jobs. They also hired veterans and graduates of Kitchens For Good’s culinary apprenticeship program.

Why we invested

LuckyBolt outgrew their shared commercial kitchen and needed to expand. With our impact loan, they created a new space to connect local farms with restaurants, caterers and wholesale customers. This improves the lives of community farmers and provides fresh, high-quality ingredients to a wider audience.

7/2018 — The LuckyBolt Kitchen + Takeaway opened in Sorrento Valley

12/2018 — The team is on track to open a second retail location! This increases meal production at their main kitchen and allows them to save with larger bulk orders.
