What they do

Psyched Services was founded by two clinicians determined to address the challenges faced by schools and families in supporting children with their learning, mental health, and behavioral needs.

With a background in school psychology and behavioral therapy, Psyched Services Co-founder and CEO Kristyn Corley started as an independent practitioner before recognizing a deeper systemic need. Moving from Texas to California, Kristyn saw a shortage of qualified providers and an opportunity to create a collaborative consultation practice that bridged the gap between the private and public sectors.

Psyched Services’ multidisciplinary team of school and education psychologists, behavior analysts, and education specialists provides in-person and online assessments, training, coaching, and mental health and behavioral support.

Psyched Services primarily supports students with learning and behavioral differences, often those receiving special education services. Its in-person services are mainly offered at K–12 schools in California, while virtual services are provided nationwide.

“For students, our collaborative assessment model ensures a team approach to advocate for every child,” Kristyn explains. “We speak directly with parents, children, and educators to explain the child’s unique strengths and challenges in a clear, actionable way.”

Parents gain valuable strategies to help their children develop healthy behaviors, while schools can contract Psyched Services to fill gaps when they lack the resources or staff to provide needed services. School psychologists also benefit from fully accredited, self-paced online training courses that equip them with research-backed strategies to support students effectively.

Why we invested

Despite early growth and organic expansion through word-of-mouth referrals, Psyched Services experienced challenges scaling in California. Fellow funder Primary Funding Corporation connected Psyched Services with Mission Driven Finance, which invested in the company through an Elevance Health Foundation impact investing initiative.

“I cried after my first meeting with Mission Driven Finance,” Kristyn shares. “We had a tough year, and I was determined not to quit the mission. There are resources out there, and amazing mentors who helped us through.”

Now, with access to capital, Psyched Services is prepared to continue its growth, expanding its partnerships with schools and even branching out into private education. The company remains committed to a strength-based approach, ensuring that students aren’t defined by their challenges but empowered by their abilities.

“Challenges make you grow,” Kristyn reflects. “We’re here to support schools, students, and families—because when kids get the help they need, they can truly thrive.”

This transaction represents the first in the Elevance Health Foundation portfolio at Mission Driven Finance.
