What they do

KidWonder is a Montessori-inspired kinetic learning academy in the Point Loma neighborhood of San Diego. It offers active learning programs including pre-K prep, gymnastics, after-school camps, and special events to children ages 18 months to 12 years.

CEO & Co-founder Kim Bryant combined her experiences as a former Division I athlete who graduated with honors with a degree in business law and early education to launch KidWonder and offer families physical movement programs that enhance early education.

The benefits of kinesthetic learning include not just physical well-being; it is shown to develop students’ social-emotional and cognitive abilities (like information retention, critical thinking skills, muscle memory, and problem-solving skills).

Why we invested

Under Bryant’s leadership, KidWonder’s revenue grew 69% during the pandemic.

KidWonder is planning to open a second location in Encinitas. Our investment will help Bryant and the team build a new location and serve twice the number of students and families.

KidWonder ensures its programs benefit all communities. KidWonder accepts CalWORKs (subsidized child care services for low-income families), waives fees for families who receive government child care assistance, supports children on free or reduced lunch programs, and offers their facility at no cost to local special needs schools.
