Why we invested
Driven by a desire to prove that one can build a successful business without compromising ethics, Microtek plans to build a network of other businesses, creating an innovation hub, and bringing more quality jobs to the region by adding five to ten positions by 2021.
Microtek is working on implantable devices to detect breast cancer and a portfolio of intellectual property for patenting. Through the Asian Business Association San Diego Small Business Development Center, Microtek learned about Mission Driven Finance, which invested in the company to support its mission and business goals.
03/2022 —The Microtek team engaged Mission Driven Finance in a third loan as they seek capital to increase operational capacity to meet growing demand and customers’ manufacturing capacity needs. Microtek will use this loan to acquire new capital equipment or machinery, hire and train five new employees, and acquire the necessary inventory to fulfill purchase orders for a client.
05/2021 — Microtek was recognized by the San Diego Business Journal in association with the Asian Business Association of San Diego as the Asian Pacific Islander Business of the Year in the “Most Innovative” category!
12/2020 — Microtek needed to increase operational capacity in preparation for a new purchase order, and approached Mission Driven Finance for a second short-term loan.
